Cawfee Regula

When I first moved away from New Jersey, I went into a Dunkin Donuts to order a coffee.

"Cawfee regula," I said.

"Would you like any cream or sugar?" the girl asked.

I am confused. Again..."yes, cawfee regula."

Exasperated, she replies..."I undersand you do not want decaf, but what do you want in it?"

I now realize that New Jersey, from now on referred to as "Joisey" has its own coffee lingo.

Cawfee regular has cream and sugar

Cawfee light...just cream.

Cawfee sweet...just sugar.

Cawfee dark...quite simple...black cawfee.

It's quite simple and makes ordering cawfee much easier.

So, Starbucks, Seattles best, Green Mountain, please, if we have to learn your lingo, please at least be respectful of ours.

I'm just sayin...
